Fellowship opportunity
The Centre for Women's Studies & Gender Research at Monash University (Melbourne, Australia) is keen to hear from potential applicants for the Monash Fellowships, a five yr research appointment. Details of the scheme appear below. Interested potential applicants should contact the Centre's director, Dr Maryanne Dever (maryanne.dever@arts.monash.edu.au) with a CV and brief outline of their research interests.
Scheme Aim and Objectives
Monash University has established the Monash Fellowships to attract internationally competitive researchers to undertake research of national and international significance (including young researchers from overseas with great future potential) and provide them with the best possible environment to establish a productive laboratory or other research team and to foster collaborations.
Eligibility
Applications are invited from researchers outside Monash University, in any discipline, with normally not less than two and not more than eight years of post-doctoral research experience as at 1 September 2005, calculated from the date of submission of PhD thesis, and with demonstrated research outcomes at international level. The Fellowships are tenable only at Monash University and it is expected that most of the time will be spent at the relevant Monash department/centre.
Funding
Following a Monash-conducted competitive process, up to four successful applicants will be awarded up to $140,000 per annum (comprising a salary in the Research Fellow Level B range - including on-costs - plus a research support grant of up to $50,000 per annum) for 5 years.
Any Fellow who subsequently secures externally funded salary support would retain a research support grant of up to $50,000 per annum for the remainder term of the fellowship.
The Fellow's Faculty/Department/School is responsible for providing accommodation and access to facilities and services necessary for the Fellow's research program.
NOTE: Applicants should contact the Head of the Department/School/Centre in which they propose to undertake the research, prior to submitting the application, to discuss the proposed project and obtain a list of the research priorities for the proposed faculty.
